1

Overnight: Hotel in Windhoek (Bed & Breakfast)

Arrival at the international airport. Pick up your rental car. Approx. 45 minutes drive to the hotel in Windhoek.

For the first evening in Windhoek, you should book the desired restaurant in advance. We will be happy to make the table reservation for you.

Optional activities: Guided Katutura tour, city tour (also on your own).

Overnight: Lodge in the Waterberg region (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

After breakfast, drive north to the Waterberg Plateau Lodge. Situated on a high terrace on the slope of the Waterberg, the chalets of the lodge offer a magnificent view over the endless bush savannah of the Kalahari.

The afternoon is free for optional activities, such as: plateau walk, honeymoon sundowner, rhino drive, rhino tracking, hiking trails, cultural tour to Hereroland.

Overnight: Lodge in the Waterberg region (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today is at your leisure.

Optional activities as mentioned above and an additional exploration tour of the Waterberg Plateau are an option today.

Overnight: Bush Camp in the Grootfontein area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

After breakfast, drive to the next camp located near Grootfontein. On the way you can visit the Hoba Meteorite as an optional extra.

You arrive at camp in the early afternoon. This bush camp offers a package consisting of 2 nights, full board with Bushman activities. The safari tents are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, beds and mosquito nets. Guests experience the freedom of the African bush and relaxation in nature, while at the same time getting to know the Bushman culture.

Overnight: Bush Camp in the Grootfontein area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

This morning, you will go on an excursion to the traditional Bushman village. There you will learn about the way of life and some of the traditions and wisdom of this indigenous people. The term San refers to a number of ethnic groups in southern Africa who originally lived purely as hunter-gatherers. The word “San” goes back to a term used by the Nama of South Africa and means “those who gather something from the ground”.

Overnight: Lodge in the Mahango area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today the route continues north to the Caprivi Strip, past the Popa Falls, to the lodge located near Mahango Park. However, the Popa Falls are not really waterfalls, but a series of several rapids.

You can visit the rapids on the outward or return journey. Entrance fees approx. NAD 150.00 per person and approx. NAD 50.00 for the vehicle. A nice restaurant located directly at the Popa Falls not only offers a great view but also serves as a place to take a breather with a cool drink or snack while enjoying the beautiful atmosphere.

Overnight: Lodge in the Mahango area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today is at your leisure.

Optional activities:

Morning | afternoon game drive on your own in the Mahango Park or excursion to Botswana to the Okavango Panhandle. Game drives with the lodge in the nearby Mahango National Park. You can also book boat trips on the Kavango on site or a breakfast boat tour.

Overnight: Lodge on the banks of the Kwando River (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

At the very top, on its northern border, Namibia is not quite over yet. Squeezed between Zambia and Botswana, a gifted piece of land stretches eastwards to the Zambezi. It really is just a tip, which is why it is called the Caprivi tip.
Continue your journey through the water-rich Caprivi Strip, which is now called Bwabwata National Park. Your accommodation is located on the Kwando River. An ideal place to relax and take in the natural surroundings.

Optional: Self-guided game drives in Mudumo National Park or a boat trip on the Kwando River. A guided bush walk is also an option, as is a fishing trip. In the western part of the Strip lies the Bwabwata National Park, an untouched wilderness with more than 400 bird species. A true paradise for bird lovers.

The Kwando River is a tributary of the Zambezi and forms the border between the eastern and western parts of the Caprivi Strip. The day is at leisure. You can go on game drives on your own.

Overnight: Lodge on the banks of the Kwando River (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today you have the opportunity to explore the Kwando area extensively. The lodge also offers optional activities such as game drives in the Bwabwata Park in the morning or afternoon, as well as boat trips on the Kwando River.

Overnight: Lodge in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Departure in the morning towards Botswana. After approx. 200 km you reach the border crossing. Continue (approx. 70 km) through the Chobe National Park to Kasane. In the afternoon you can stay at the lodge or book an optional game drive in the Chobe Park with the lodge directly on site.

Overnight: On a Houseboat (Full Board & Boating Activities)

Transfer to the Kasane immigration post. Upstream you will take a boat transfer to a houseboat where you will arrive for lunch. Activities and excursions depending on the weather are included (examples: Excursion to the village, bird watching, hike to the baobab tree on Impalila Island).

3 motorboats per houseboat allow flexible planning of water activities.
Experience the romantic sunset as the sun sinks over the Chobe River on the horizon.

Overnight: On a Houseboat (Full Board & Boating Activities)

Chobe National Park is known for having the largest elephant population in Africa. The 10,500 sq km national park is home to over 80,000 pachyderms, most of which reside in the far north of the park on the banks of the Chobe River.

Activities and excursions with the “boats”. Activities include bird watching, fishing (regular fishing and fly fishing) and game viewing. Three smaller boats are available for close-up game viewing trips.

Overnight: Lodge in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will take the small boats back to Impalila Island and then to Kasane where a representative of a transfer company will welcome you. You will be transferred back to your lodge in Kasane and have the afternoon at leisure.

Overnight: Lodge in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today you can visit the famous Victoria Falls on an optional day trip. A car transfer takes you to the border crossing (approx. 7 km) and then transfer to Victoria Falls (approx. 90 km). After arrival, guided tour of the falls. Today you will explore the majestic Victoria Falls extensively on a guided tour (approx. 2 hours). The waterfalls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are the result of the mighty natural spectacle of the Zambezi River plunging 110 meters over a 1708 meter wide basalt cliff. The falls are one of the greatest natural wonders on our planet and fascinate everyone who sees the thundering spectacle with their own eyes.

Optional: In consultation with the driver – lunch at the Look-Out Café.
Afterwards transfer back to Kasane to your accommodation on the Chobe River. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Overnight: Lodge in the vicinity of Nata (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

After breakfast, continue towards Nata. No settlement far and wide. There is no reason to stop, the land here belongs above all to the wild animals. Botswana, about the size of France, is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world with just 2 million inhabitants. But then there is a stop and it’s time to get out. Ngwasha Gate is a veterinary checkpoint. The vehicle and passengers’ shoes are disinfected. Continue to your camp, which is located about 50 km from Nata. Elephant and buffalo herds are at home here and use the waterhole and sometimes the pool at the lodge to quench their thirst.

Optional activities: Morning bush walk, game drive: animals on the trail.

Overnight: Lodge in the vicinity of Gweta (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

After a very early breakfast, make your way to Planet Baobab Lodge near Gweta. You should check in by 12:00 at the latest if you would like to take part in the optional expedition to the Ntwetwe Pan at 14:00. Among other things, you will encounter extraordinary creatures – the meerkats. If you observe these animals for an extended period of time, you can see how they interact with each other. Due to an ongoing habituation program, it is possible to get close to these fascinating creatures.
Optional quads are also available if you are interested in driving the quads yourself – this can be booked on site at an additional cost.

Overnight: Lodge in the vicinity of Gweta (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today you can take part in another optional activity at the lodge. In the afternoon, for example, you can go on a guided hiking tour to the baobabs, which are the subject of mysterious myths and legends.

After breakfast, drive to Maun. You can book all activities directly at the lodge.

After breakfast, continue to Ghanzi. Here you have an overnight stay to break up the long journey to Namibia. In this game reserve outside Ghanzi, you can see several species of antelope.

Overnight: Lodge in the vicinity of Gobabis (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Today you return to Namibia. You will have the next two nights at the end of your safari to review the past, as well as to enjoy some great experiences in a family atmosphere. The lodge also offers optional game drives, and a sundowner drive in the Kalahari Desert is particularly popular here.

Today you have another opportunity to relax or take part in an optional game drive on the reserve. Game viewing: You can sit at the waterhole at the lodge and observe, photograph and document the animals drinking, wallowing and grazing at your leisure.

The last leg of your safari ends today at Hosea Kutako Airport, where you return your rental car in good time before check-in.
